What is a care box?
A care box contains consumable care supplies under § 40 (2) SGB XI. Insured persons with care level 1–5 are entitled to these products worth up to €42 per month.
What are consumable care supplies?
Consumable care supplies are disposable products needed daily in home care. They protect against infections and contamination.
Typical contents of a care box
Disposable gloves (nitrile)
Bed protectors (absorbent pads)
Hand disinfectant
Surface disinfectant
Face masks
Disposable protective aprons
Finger cots
Who is entitled to a care box?
Insured persons with a recognised care level (1–5) who are cared for at home are entitled to consumable care supplies. Costs are covered by the care insurer.
