Consumable care supplies
Insured persons with care level 1–5 are entitled to consumable care supplies worth up to €42 per month under § 40 (2) SGB XI. These products are fully paid for by the care insurer – no co-payment, no shipping costs.
What are consumable care supplies?
Consumable care supplies are disposable products needed daily in home care. They protect against infections and contamination. The legal basis is § 40 (2) SGB XI.
Unlike technical care aids (such as care beds or wheelchairs), consumable care supplies are disposed of after single use. The care insurer covers costs of up to €42 per month.
