Entitlement & Requirements
Who is entitled to a care box?
All persons with a recognised care level (1–5) who are cared for at home are entitled to consumable care supplies worth up to €42 per month under § 40 (2) SGB XI.
Does this also apply to care level 1?
Yes. From care level 1, insured persons are entitled to consumable care supplies worth up to €42 monthly.
Does this also apply to care level 5?
Yes, of course. Insured persons with care level 5 have the same entitlement – up to €42 per month, completely free.
What's the difference between care aids and consumable care supplies?
Care aids is an umbrella term for technical aids and consumable products. Consumable care supplies are disposable products like gloves, bed protectors and disinfectants.
Costs & Billing
Is the care box really free for me?
Yes – costs are fully covered by your care insurer. No co-payment, no shipping costs, no hidden fees.
Which care insurers are accepted?
All care insurers in Germany – AOK, TK, BARMER, DAK, IKK, Knappschaft, BKK and others. As an approved provider (IK: 330522476) we have contracts with all insurers.
Why do the products cost me nothing?
Under § 40 (2) SGB XI, the care insurer fully covers the costs. PflegeKatze bills your care insurer directly.
Ordering & Delivery
How do I apply for the care box?
Assemble your box online, enter your details and PflegeKatze handles the complete application. It takes about 2 minutes.
How long until my care box arrives?
After approval by the care insurer, you'll receive your first box usually within 5–10 working days.
How often is the care box delivered?
Your care box is delivered automatically every month with free shipping.
Can I change the contents of my box?
Yes, at any time – simply online or by phone at 02327 369 6240.
Is there a minimum term or cancellation period?
No. You can pause or cancel the service at any time – at no cost.
Products & Quality
What products are included in the care box?
The care box can contain: disposable nitrile gloves, bed protectors, hand disinfectant, surface disinfectant, face masks, protective aprons and finger cots.
Are the products high quality?
Yes. All products meet the quality requirements of care insurers. As a certified provider (IK 330522476) we are subject to strict quality standards.
